Sufficient Condition and Algorithm for List Total Colorings of Series-Parallel Graphs
نویسندگان
چکیده
A total coloring of a graph G is a coloring of all elements of G, i.e. vertices and edges, such that no two adjacent or incident elements receive the same color. Let L(x) be a set of colors assigned to each element x of G. Then a list total coloring of G is a total coloring such that each element x receives a color contained in L(x). The list total coloring problem asks whether G has a list total coloring for given L. In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for a series-parallel graph to have a list total coloring, and we present a linear-time algorithm to find a list total coloring of a given series-parallel graph G if G and L satisfy the sufficient condition. key words: algorithm, total coloring, list total coloring, series-parallel graph

متن کاملReconfiguration of List Edge-Colorings in a Graph
We study the problem of reconfiguring one list edge-coloring of a graph into another list edge-coloring by changing only one edge color assignment at a time, while at all times maintaining a list edge-coloring, given a list of allowed colors for each edge. First we show that this problem is PSPACE-complete, even for planar graphs of maximum degree 3 and just six colors. We then consider the pro...
متن کاملThe Local Nature of List Colorings for Graphs of High Girth
We consider list coloring problems for graphs G of girth larger than c logΔ−1 n, where n and Δ ≥ 3 are, respectively, the order and the maximum degree of G, and c is a suitable constant. First, we determine that the edge and total list chromatic numbers of these graphs are χl(G) = Δ and χ′′ l (G) = Δ+1. This proves that the general conjectures of Bollobás and Harris (1985), Behzad and Vizing (1...
متن کاملPreservation of Stochastic Orderings of Interdependent Series and Parallel Systems by Componentwise Switching to Exponentiated Models
This paper discusses the preservation of some stochastic orders between two interdependent series and parallel systems when the survival and distribution functions of all components switch to the exponentiated model. For the series systems, the likelihood ratio, hazard rate, usual, aging faster, aging intensity, convex transform, star, superadditive and dispersive orderings, and for the paralle...

In this paper, we study the group and list group colorings of total graphs and present group coloring versions of the total and list total colorings conjectures. We establish the group coloring version of the total coloring conjecture for the following classes of graphs: graphs with small maximum degree, two-degenerate graphs, planner graphs with maximum degree at least 11, planner graphs withou...
